Spring Cleaning

As I was doing some Spring Cleaning and getting ready for a
family weekend, I also put up some
simple Spring decorations

I wanted to keep it simple this year,

eggs in a nest, birds and birdhouse, sprig of cotton
on the entry table;

all white mantel,

lavender and vintage Easter cards,

bunny and flowers and large birdhouse,

and an egg in the Quimper dish,

all fill the living room;

dried hydrangeas,

and white tulips are all I need for the dining room.

Adding Easter to Spring Decor

With Easter just around the corner, I thought I would add
a few items to my Spring decor.

The mantle got a Rejoice banner and pretty blue egg.

I rearranged the entry table and dining table,
bringing the love birds and eggs under the cloche to the entry.

A pot of lavender and another egg was added to the coffee table.

The hydrangeas moved from the entry to the dining room.

And a bowl of pretty colored eggs joined the flowers
"under glass" on the Welsh dresser.

Outside, I added a little banner to the basket of flowers.

Happy Easter!

Mother's Day Lunch

On Mother's Day, we usually all gather at my house and my husband and children make lunch while I play with the grandkids. This year I made my kids a deal: I would cook if they finished putting the roof on my patio.

They took the deal!

 Tablescape: an English Country look
These English Garden dishes came from the Dollar Store many years ago!

The menu:
Fruit Salad Dip with Cinnamon Chips
Pepper Cheese Spread with various Crackers
Chicken in a Creamy Artichoke and Mushroom Sauce
Spinach Salad with Berries
Sourdough Bread
Brownie Cheesecake

Unfortunately, it was a very hot day and someone had to be on the roof of the patio. They decided it should be the smallest one (Daughter), while the 2 big ones would hand up the heavy 4'x8' sections and get them into place.

They finished the roof just as lunch was ready and it is beautiful!

Next project: stylin' the patio!
