Spring Mantel and Filling an Empty Space!

Just finished up another fun market, Roses and Rust!

I decided to bring my antique camel-back sofa
and see what happened.

 Well, it sold!
Which is a good thing (though I will miss it!),
but it left a big hole in my living room.
I am now on the lookout for a new sofa, but in
the meantime, I had to fill that space!

So I reshuffled the chairs and tables.
It feels much less cramped and also shows off that
cute little table between the chairs!

While I was doing this, I noticed my cow mantel was still there!
A little past time for a Spring mantel, I would say!

A quick look around for some springy items,

and this is what I came up with!
Pickets, garden sign and flowers, all say Spring!

Early Spring Mantel

It all started when my daughter gave me these sweet pink carnations
she brought home from a friend's house.

It was the first of March and I thought it was time
to do an early Spring mantel.

White pitchers are one of my favorite things!

My mom recently gave me this roll of old hymns she found
at an antique store.

Got to have birds in Spring decorating!

Are you wondering where those pink flowers are?

They ended up on the desk beside the fireplace!

Happy Spring Decorating!

Spring!

I have been super busy getting ready for a show and a wedding all taking place on the same weekend!
But, I found a little time this week to get some spring looks together.

On the dining table, I put out a bright flower quilt, birdhouse,
a nest-basket of eggs, little white birds and a potted freesia.

The entrance table just got a small potted English Daisy and pretty clock.

This clock is a favorite of the grandkids because the ladybug
and carrot go around and the frog comes out of the top! Oh, it plays music too!

For the mantle, I just did a quick redo of things already there,

like the window and sign,

then added some spring touches like...

 English Daisies under glass

a ceramic bunny

tiny English pots and pretty blue tin piece

Spring details also include a bunny pillow
and flowers in a birdcage.

 Happy Spring!

New Spring Mantel for the New Living Room

Since the whole living room got a new look, I couldn't leave out the mantel.

Some of my favorite things ended up here. The window was a gift from a dear friend, I moved it from my craft room.

This piece of tin came out of an old building in Sacramento. This is my favorite color and one of my very favorite things! And I always love fleur de lis.

The large birdhouse needed a new home.

Candles replace the "logs" for spring/summer.
My granddaughter calls this chair her "Goldilocks chair"!

Fits very well with the new look!

Spring Mantel

I needed a new spring mantle.

I knew I wanted to use the yellow quilt that someone gave me recently,

and that green piece of tin that I love,

as well as the leaded window,

so I just layered them and began adding other things like the little pots and the "Rejoice" banner from last year.

I pretty much always use this white pitcher, I just love its shape,

and I wanted to keep the lantern, it balances the pitcher nicely.

But that's when I needed my camera,

to help me decide on the center detail.

That's the one.
